The Club for Growth praised Senator Fred Thompson for the release of his pro-growth tax reform plan this morning on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace. The seven-part plan is the most comprehensive tax reform plan offered to date by a presidential candidate.

Most commendable is Thompson’s plan to expand taxpayer choice by adopting the Republican Study Committee’s recent plan, called the Taxpayer Choice Act. This plan will give American taxpayers the choice of opting into a simplified tax code that contains only two rates rather than deal with the current monstrosity known as the U.S. tax code.

“While other candidates have adopted pieces of this plan, Thompson goes a step further by offering a specific corporate tax reduction and offering taxpayers the option of a simple tax plan,” said Club for Growth President Pat Toomey. “His plan is based on the fundamental fact that lower rates and simpler rules across the board promote economic freedom and enhance economic growth. This is the kind of plan economic conservatives can rally around.”

BERLIN —  German authorities were searching Thursday for about 10 suspected supporters of an Islamic group linked to Al Qaeda believed to have assisted three militants arrested for plotting imminent attacks against Americans in Germany, an official said.

They have said again and again they will attack us anywhere and everywhere.  We know they are in America and yet Democrats like to pretend that if we pull out of the Middle East and give in to their demands that the problem will go away.

Fred Thompson running for president

I hope this is true.  The current field of so-called Republican candidates is pretty bleak.  Thompson has a record I respect, he has not flipped nor flopped, and he truly believes in Conservative ideals.

The Right in America is in trouble.  The current crop of Republican front-runners are either unabashed social liberals, or they are on EVERY side of the issues with no clear position.  With no clear message, and no clear ideals, there is no way the Republicans can hope to win back Congress and hold on to the White House. 

Enter Fred Thompson.

If he can communicate the ideals of Conservative government and spark a fire in the base then the nomination is his to lose.  Be prepared for the media to either embrace him or tear him apart.  (I suspect the latter, so I hope he has is personal affairs in order because the Left are vultures! )

So, for what it is worth, ConservativeGirl is standing behind Fred Thompson.  It is 100% official.  I look at it this way, the last time an actor was president things were not so bad .... not so bad at all.

A federal law enforcement source confirmed to FOX News that the three — Dritan "Anthony" or "Tony" Duka, 28; Shain Duka, 26; and Eljvir "Elvis" Duka, 23 — also accumulated 19 traffic citations, but because they operated in "sanctuary cites," where law enforcement does not routinely report illegal immigrants to homeland security, none of the tickets raised red flags.

The brothers entered the United States near Brownsville, Texas, in 1984, the source said, which would put their ages at 1 to 6 when they crossed the border.

The source said there is no record of them entering by way of a regular border crossing, so they are investigating whether they were smuggled into the country.

It didn't take long, did it?  Not that I am surprised. 

Rather them place the blame on the shoulders of the man, a South Korean on a visa, who killed more than thirty people in cold blood, we would blame the weapon he used. 

Because, as we all know, murder was not invented until the gun was invented.  Furthermore, people do not kill people, guns kill people.  Anyone who thinks otherwise is obviously a moron.  Europe, and our liberal friends, know best and anyone who loves freedom and liberty, and who believes in the Constitution and the 2nd amendment, has blood on their hands.

Congressman Jim Moran (D-VA) blames Republicans and President Bush for massacre

Moran suggested Republicans were to blame for Monday's tragedy at Virginia Tech, which left 33 dead and injured another 30. The anti-gun congressman said Republican policies made it easy for the shooter to obtain a gun.

When the show's host tried to suggest that the gunman may have been hellbent on killing regardless of the law, Moran turned the conversation back to the GOP, complaining that the United States needs a national registry to track all firearms purchases and more stringent gun-control laws. White House press secretary Tony Snow will undergo treatment after doctors found a cancerous growth in his lower abdomen.

The cancer has spread to his liver, said White House spokeswoman Dana Perino. Snow spoke to President Bush Tuesday morning, who told Snow he was praying for him.

"He said he's going to beat it again," Perino said in briefing with White House reporters. "When I talked to him, he was in very good spirits."

Snow, 51, had his colon removed in 2005 and underwent six months of chemotherapy after being diagnosed with colon cancer. A small growth was discovered last year in his lower right pelvic area, and it was removed on Monday. Doctors determined that it was cancerous, and that his cancer had metastized, or spread, to his liver, Perino said.

Bad news for a great man.  Get well soon Tony!!  We need you!!
