May Day March Likely to Backfire on Protesters

The idea of a Latin National Anthem is absurd!  And I agree that a May 1 march will just fan the anti-immigration flames. 

If I were president I would suggest the following.  (I am sure ConservativeGirl '08 banners are in the works as I type! )

We need to enforce the laws we have.  What is the use of creating news laws that we will not enforce?  I keep hearing how our current laws don't work.  Well, yeah, if you do not even try to enforce them seriously they will fail.

I would also like to see a border fence -- 20 feet high, 6 feet thick with snipers stationed every 20 yards.  Post big signs that warn people that any attempt to gain illegal entry into the US will get you shot.  And deport anyone that we find here illegally! 

I would also like to see laws that set English as our national language and require anyone coming into the US for work, or to gain citizenship, speak and understand English.  There should be a test, and if you fail you leave.  You can try again in one year.  If you fail the second time you can't try again.  PERIOD.

No other nation has borders as open as we do.  They enforce their immigration laws, and so should we.
