No, they won't 'cut-n-run' in Iraq!

Shame on you if you believed the election year lies of the Socialist Left. They ran a campaign against the President and against the War and anyone who thought for a second that they would let our troops stay there until the job was done was fooled. The Democrats know that if they can't get a complete withdrawal of troops inside a year they will be considered failures

Kucinich Calls for Cutting Off Iraq War Funds

"I want to say that there's one solution here, and it's not to engage in a debate with the President, who has taken us down a path of disaster in Iraq, but it's for Congress to assume the full power that it has under the Constitution to cut off funds. We don't need to keep indulging in this debate about what to do, because as long as we keep temporizing, the situation gets worse in Iraq.

"We have to determine that the time has come to cut off funds. There’s enough money in the pipeline to achieve the orderly withdrawal that Senator McGovern is talking about. But cut off funds, we must. That's the ultimate power of the Congress, the power of the purse. That's how we'll end this war, and that’s the only way we’re going to end this war.

"We need to shift our direction."

Emboldened Democrats to Urge Iraq Exit

"We cannot save the Iraqis from themselves. The only way for Iraqi leaders to squarely face that reality is for President Bush to tell them that the United States will begin a phased redeployment of our forces within four to six months," Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., said at the outset of a hearing featuring the top U.S. commander in the Middle East.

James Lewis   at The American Thinker has written a brilliant article about the Left in America.  He explains why calling the "Socialists" is 100% accurate.  (And, I might add, something I have been doing for quite a while now.  ConservagiveGirl.com, ahead of the curve! )

Now, can we call them "socialists"?

Conservatives are suicidally polite. We feel bound to act nice, and so we go along with whatever euphemism the Left chooses for itself. On their side, Democrats loudly argue for truth in advertising for baldness cures—- but not in the marketplace of political ideas, where telling the truth is a lot more important. That is why the Left constantly seeks new PR labels to disguise itself.

Using the word “socialism” is taboo in American politics, but today  the Democratic Party is socialist at heart. Even “liberal” isn’t accurate any more, because today’s Democrats are hardly the party of Cold War liberals like John F. Kennedy and Harry S Truman. Instead, they have fallen back on fuzzy, wishful Marxism. It’s where they feel most comfortable.

The Left is now pushing for yet a new PR label, “progressive,” which gently rings the old Marxist chimes for those in the know. If you call yourself a progressive, everybody who doesn’t agree must be a Neanderthal.  But words mean things, and “socialist” is simply more accurate than either “liberal” or “progressive.”

Lot's more goodness where that came from.  Go read it now!

Exclusive: Charges Sought Against Rumsfeld Over Prison Abuse

Just days after his resignation, former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld is about to face more repercussions for his involvement in the troubled wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. New legal documents, to be filed next week with Germany's top prosecutor, will seek a criminal investigation and prosecution of Rumsfeld, along with Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, former CIA director George Tenet and other senior U.S. civilian and military officers, for their alleged roles in abuses committed at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison and at the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

And

Lawyers for the plaintiffs say that one of the witnesses who will testify on their behalf is former Brig. Gen. Janis Karpinski, the one-time commander of all U.S. military prisons in Iraq.

Hanging is too good for Karpinski.  Bush did the wrong thing, throwing Rumsfeld under the bus, and this is the result.

The Liberals Reached Their Target Audience

As if America needed further proof that the Liberals are the favored party of the Islamic-fascists here is this jewel out of the Middle East today ...

Al-Qaida in Iraq Claims It's Winning War

"The American people have put their feet on the right path by ... realizing their president's betrayal in supporting Israel," the terror leader said. "So they voted for something reasonable in the last elections."

Describing President Bush as "the most stupid president" in U.S. history, al-Masri reached out to the Muslim world and said his group was winning the war in Iraq faster than expected due to U.S. policies.

Looks like the Liberal Propoganda Machine is working just fine, giving aid and comfort to terrorists, and making America and our government look weak.

Yeah, thanks for that!

Let the Changes Begin!

RNC asks Steele to replace Mehlman

Mr. Steele is one of the most successful and respected black Republicans in the country. He served as the elected Maryland Republican Party chairman before running for lieutenant governor.
The White House, RNC and National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) were pleased with what they called his tough but dignified performance as senatorial candidate in a liberal state that last elected a Republican senator in 1980. The NRSC had enough confidence in him as a candidate that it directed large amounts of money into independent expenditures on behalf of his campaign in the closing days.

It is time for a change.  Can this fellow cut the mustard?  From what I have read so far, yes, but I reserve my final judgement.  I will not blindly accept conservative leadership from this party anymore.  Losing their way was easy, finding their way back will be hard.

2006, and let's be honest the last four years, have been filled with internal strife within the party.  From Immigration to the size of government, The White House has forgotten the Conservative values that won them the office.  But, just like me, the base is not taking this one on the chin.

GOP furious about timing of Rumsfeld resignation

"The White House said keeping the majority was a priority, but they failed to do the one thing that could have made a difference," one House GOP leadership aide said Thursday. "For them to toss Rumsfeld one day after the election was a slap in the face to everyone who worked hard to protect the majority."

Changes are coming, and they are a good thing!!
