An Articulate Response

Response Ad to Michael J. Fox

Here is a response ad to the Michael J. Fox scare ad run in Missouri. Liberals love to make disease a political issue. They love to hide the facts too.

Trans-Texas Disaster

If you are not from Texas you may not have gotten wind of the Trans-Texas Corridor.  Well, you should do some research.  This planned roadway may not affect you now, but it could.

The Corridor has been promoted as a way to ease traffic on our highways, create a faster route for goods to be transported, commuter trains will be added, and infrastructure for utilities including water lines, oil and gas pipelines, and transmission lines for electricity, broadband and other telecommunications services will be added.

Sounds good, right?

What they are not telling you is about the thousands of acres of private land that will be taken, for 'fair market value', from owners who have had the land for generations, the small towns that will crumble due to decreased tourist traffic and sales tax revenue, the foreign companies that will benefit from the lucrative contract, tolls, and concession agreements, and the problem of the new corridor being a terrorist target due to our state's infrastructure being so directly tied to the roadway, yet inadequately protected.

Most disturbing is this from a press release from Rep. Ron Paul's website:

According to the SPP website, this dialogue will create new supra-national organizations to coordinate border security, health policy, economic and trade policy, and energy policy between the three governments. As such, it is but an extension of the NAFTA and CAFTA agreements-- government trade schemes that bypass the express constitutional authority of Congress to regulate trade.

"This is a matter of national sovereignty," Paul stated. "Any movement toward a North American Union diminishes the ability of average Americans to influence the laws under which they must live. The SPP agreement, which includes plans for a major transnational superhighway through Texas, is moving forward without congressional oversight-- and that is an outrage. The administration needs a strong message from Congress that the American people will not tolerate backroom deals that threaten our sovereignty."

AP Exclusive: Reid Got $1M in Land Sale

Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid collected a $1.1 million windfall on a Las Vegas land sale even though he hadn't personally owned the property for three years, property deeds show.

In the process, Reid did not disclose to Congress an earlier sale in which he transferred his land to a company created by a friend and took a financial stake in that company, according to records and interviews.

AP Exclusive: Reid Got $1M in Land Sale

A group of House Republicans called Wednesday for a congressional investigation into the improper handling of classified documents by President Clinton's national security adviser, Sandy Berger.

Berger admitted last year that he deliberately took classified documents out of the National Archives in 2003 and destroyed some of them at his office. He pleaded guilty in federal court to one charge of unauthorized removal and retention of classified material and was fined $50,000.

U.S. Wants Sanctions on North Korea

Bolton told the Security Council meeting that Washington would view a North Korean attack on South Korea or Japan as an attack on the United States, U.N. diplomats said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the meeting was closed. The United States has defense agreements with Tokyo and Seoul, and thousands of U.S. troops are stationed in both countries.

Well, of course we will stand up against North Korea if they attack South Korea or Japan.  Should it come to war, we will not back down and we will not be afraid to step in to protect our allies.  And that is how it should be!

North Korea thinks we are a paper tiger.  It is too bad we can not show our claws now, before anything happens.  If we wait for them to make the next move (because their test was the first move, rest assured) we will make a huge mistake.

The Left's Diplomacy Pays Off

If the Left’s policies allowed Stalinists to arm, they left Americans defenseless. The Democratic Party has defined its defense policy in opposition to the concept of defense. For more than two decades, the Democratic Party has worked in concert to block any missile defense program and castigated those who tried to shield the United States from a doomsday device. When President Reagan announced the Strategic Defense Initiative in 1983, Ted Kennedy promptly denounced it as “Star Wars.” The New York Times called it “a projection of fantasy into policy,” and other outlets fretted the abandonment of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) would encourage the United States to pre-emptively attack the Soviet Union. Bill Clinton pledged his support for a missile shield in theory during his 1996 re-election campaign, then withheld critical funds and scheduled deployments in his second term.

He sets it all out, and he is blind to the mistakes of the Bush Administration either.  Good stuff.  Go, read now.
