Katrina Victims Blamed for Houston Crime

Katrina sent a lot of bad guys to Texas, as Houston is finding out.

Houston took in 150,000 evacuees _ the most of any U.S. city _ after Katrina struck on Aug. 29. Houston police believe the evacuees are partly responsible for a nearly 17.5 percent increase in homicides so far this year over the same period in 2005.

About 21 percent of Houston's 232 homicides through July 25 involved an evacuee as either a suspect or a victim, according to police, who attribute much of the bloodshed to fighting among rival New Orleans gang members.

Day of terror strikes was planned for August 16

Terrorists were planning to unleash a series of deadly mid-air explosions on flights between London and America on August 16, it has been revealed today.

Members of the terror group, who were arrested in a series of raids by anti-terror police yesterday, were due to mount a dry run today to check if they could smuggle components for liquid explosives through Britain's airports.

United Airline tickets dated next Wednesday were found by police at the home of one of the raided addresses.

Imagine how this could have played out were it not for the British authorities who, starting with a rather vague tip, prevented the slaughter US and British citizens.  That the US and the UK were able to work together on this makes me proud of our two great nations!

I am not surprised.  I knew it was only a matter of time.  One of my friends sent me a comment left on an MSN article where the poster intimated that there was no threat and that Bush and Blair made the whole thing up in an attempt to keep the Republican majority in congress.

You got us!!!  You guys sure are smart!!!  Here is what we did (because the villain always tells you his nefarious plan for world domination).

What we did was have a meeting, see. 

Bush - If we want to keep those dang Liberals out of power we needed a diversion ... but what? 

Blair - I know!! A terror plot that is foiled at the last second!! 

Cheney - What a great idea!!  But who do we frame?

Blair - Who indeed.  The Muslims, of course!

Rice - How about some innocent Muslims who are doing nothing more than reading the Quran to their invalid mothers, while helping poor crippled homeless children learn to read, and feeding really cute stray puppies.
