Mexicans Say Guard Won't Slow Migrants
"Soldiers in the border? That won't stop me. I'll swim the river and jump the wall. I'm going to arrive in the United States,"
This guy has a sense of entitlement. He feels entitled to come here, work here, but not pay taxes or become a citizen. This, folks, is EXACTLY why we need more troops and a wall along this border.

A lot of people are talking about the Presidents Immigration Reform plans. Prior to last night I was very unhappy with the position this administration and the President had taken on illegal immigration. I am 100% against amnesty. It is unfair to those who became citizens the legal way and it rewards law breakers. I have said before that we are a nation of laws, and we have to uphold the laws otherwise they mean nothing. There is no one group that is, or should be, exempt.
I tuned into the President's speech last night expecting it to be more of the same. I must say I was surprised with the speech, but I am not altogether happy either.
I do approve of the addition of troops along the border, but I was hoping for at least 10,000 troops along our border, and I had hoped that they would take a more active roll in patrolling the area. I know we do not want to make the Mexican's mad by having a militarized border, but I fear that nothing short of active troops will stop the border hemorrhage.
I am still working out how I feel, exactly, on the Presidents 'non-amnesty' amnesty plan. I am part of the 'send-them-all-back-to-where-they-came-from' camp, and while the President’s plan is not EXACTLY amnesty, it is darn close.
I want to know the exact amount of the penalty that will be assessed to the law breaking illegals. Just because they have been here over 5 years does not mean they get to hop into the Citizenship Express Lane.
If they do not, or refuse, to learn English will they be deported? How much English will they be required to learn?
How will the government enforce the "Guest Worker" program?
How will the government make sure that employers are REALLY employing legal workers?
How much will all this cost the US taxpayer?
What I am seeing is a lot of solutions that will not really solve the main problem, and that will create a whole new level of government bureaucracy. Yay, more government!!
What I want is secure borders. Stop the problem at the root.
That should be the first priority.

Democrats Won't Try To Impeach President says minority leader Nancy Peolsi.
Seeking to choke off a Republican rallying cry, the House's top Democrat has told colleagues that the party will not seek to impeach President Bush even if it gains control of the House in November's elections, her office said last night.
Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) told her caucus members during their weekly closed meeting Wednesday "that impeachment is off the table; she is not interested in pursuing it," spokesman Brendan Daly said.
Well, I am sure you can trust her ... a democrat would not lie, right??

I had high expectations of the Rush event we attended last night. My expectations were FAR exceeded. I don't think I can recall hearing a speech that left me feeling better about being a conservative than the speech Rush gave last night.
The main focus of the speech was the power of self-reliance and the pervasive danger of the culture of guilt. He said that the topic was close to his heart, for a number of reasons.
He outlined the major difference between conservatives and liberals. Conservatives are optimistic and liberals are pessimistic. (As a dedicated student of the Limbaugh Institute I already knew this.)
Conservatives take pride in success and wake up everyday with an expectation that today will be a better day than the day before. Furethermore, each generation has and expectation that the generation to follow will have a better life and, despite what the media tells you, they do. Conservatives are proud to live in the greatest nation on the planet, and should not be made to feel bad because they want to do what they want, like drill for oil in Alaska, go to war to end oppression or cut taxes.
Liberals, on the other hand, are angry, depressed, and guilty. It begins with slavery, which was abolished long before we were born. America should not allow guilt for past events to keep us from being as powerful and successful as we can be.
He went on to say that liberals feel a deep sense of shame for the success of America because not all people live as well as we do. He used as an example Phil Donahue. He was once on the Donahue show and Phil said that but for an accident of his birth he would be a Mexican. Rush contemplated that statement for a moment and said that rather than feel guilt about your good fortune in being born an American he should go to the places where there is little hope and show them how to be successful. Raising taxes and punishing the rich will not improve the conditions in those poor nations.
But liberal guilt of success goes far beyond taxes. It also includes our consumption. Liberals love remind us that America uses 25% of the worlds resources. He said that we should not feel guilty about getting what we want, "because we feed the world, we clothe the world, we protect the world, and we take care of it after it has a disaster."
Speaking about the war, Rush said that you can not support the troops if you do not support the mission, and how much that statement aggravates him. Feeling guilt about defending freedom does a great deal of harm.
Rush attended a dinner, and at that dinner were some Purple Heart winners who asked to speak to Rush. They told him how much the appreciated all he did in the media to support the troops. Rush stopped them and said that they were the ones who deserved all the thanks because they volunteered to go into harms way to protect America and spread freedom. One of the soldiers reminded Rush that we all have our part to play, and he had play his part because every person is important.
No matter who you are or what you do, Rush said, you need to remember that you touch lives. Being on television, or radio, or in print is not the true measure of your worth. Rather, your worth is measured by the example you set. If you know it or not, what you do and how you act is a reflection of who you are. Being a conservative should not be a mark of 'cookieness' but rather a mark of pride. Being cheerful and optimistic, being proud of America and the troops, should not bring you shame.
He concluded with some personal notes about himself, his addiction, and his deep appreciation of his fans.
He said that he was glad he got addicted, "... to those stupid little pills," because he is a better person now. During the time he spent in rehab he was never worried about his audience abandoning him. Other people were worried, but he was not because he feels that he is not just broadcasting to a large anonymous mass, but to each person one-on-one, and that the bond he had with each member of his listening audience would weather that difficult time ... and it has.
All in all it was a wonderful night. I left the Nokia Theater feeling more pride in America, and in being conservative, than when I got there. Rush is more humble in person, but he is also confident, and refreshingly optimistic.
We should all strive to be.

I am so excited because I get to go see Rush Limbaugh tonight!!
A local News/Talk station WBAP is hosting the event and a portion of all ticket sales goes to The Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. So, not only do I get to see my hero but I am helping Scottish Rite Hospital. That is all good stuff!!
I will post tomorrow and let you all know how it was.
While we are discussing Rush, I would like you all to go over and read the latest offering by Ann Coulter. Consider this your Required Reading for the day.
She, as always, makes an excellent point. Conservatives need to stand up and fight against the trumped up charges, and outright lies, that Liberals so happily sling at Conservatives. Nancy Pelosi has already said that when they take control of the Congress (and they think they have that in the bag) that they will start MORE investigations of Conservatives, most importantly the President. As Ann says:
For a political party that grasps the concept of victory against foreign enemies, Republicans can't seem to grasp that concept when it comes to domestic enemies. Instead of taking a page from Sun-tzu's "Art of War," when it comes to fighting liberals, American conservatives prefer the Jimmy Carter unconditional surrender strategy.
